Our client, the UK's leading nationwide vehicle trailer/towbar specialist, is currently looking to recruit a Branch Manager for their branch in Derby. Reporting to senior management within the company and overseeing a front-of-house and workshop team, you will drive operational efficiencies and sales and co-ordinate all aspects of our client's branch operations. It is essential that you are a leader of first class standards to ensure that each and every customer receives the highest level of service. Your key responsibilities as a Branch Sales Manager shall include: 
  • Overall responsibility for the daily operation/motivation of an Branch and team, ensuring an excellent level of customer service is achieved by all members of staff at all times.
  • Responsible for maximizing branch internal/external sales and margin ensuring targets are achieved whilst adhering to policies/procedures.
  • Actively visit businesses to ensure retention of existing custom and to acquire new Customers.
  • Actively sell and promote trailers/ parts/ associated equipment/ services.  
  • Gain market penetration of the brand gaining new customers and retaining existing customers.
  • Control the Branch stock of parts and finished trailers, within the agreed stocking/budgetary guidelines.  To ensure systems are in place and followed regarding maintaining stock inventory on the Branch stockroom.
  • Ensure the Branch is kept clean, tidy and well-presented/stocked including comprehensive range of parts, trailers, leaflets promoting consistent corporate branding.
  • Become familiar with all the products supplied by the client and gain area penetration of these products by personal contact, telephone calls and promotions utilising other members of staff where necessary.
  • Maintain a customer record system detailing sales, leads/enquiries, follow-ups and general prospects.
  • Carry out recruitment in line with Recruitment Policy and Procedure, person specification and  budget. Carry out disciplinary processes/procedures as required.
  • Manage and control time-keeping and attendance/holiday authorisation within the Branch.
  • Accurately carry out and control stocktaking as determined by the Company ensuring all staff participate as required.
  • Be trained and operate a Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck where necessary within the Branch. e.g. unloading stock/trailer deliveries.
  • Hold a full, clean, current driving licence.
  • Perform any other duties deemed reasonable on request.
In order to be eligible you shall need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Derby and have a UK driving licence with minimal points.  Experience working in a supervisory/management role within the automotive industry would be highly advantageous however our client is willing to consider candidates with no experience in the motor trade but a strong track record in a retail/branch management. Overall you will have strong customer service skills, be a team player, and have a methodical and organised approach to your workload with a focus on driving additional revenue through our client's business where possible and maximising output from your team. Mechanical experience or experience of fitting trailers/towbars would also be advantageous however is non-essential. It is also advantageous if you have a Fork Lift Truck license or would be willing to undertake training to attain one. For your hard work as a Vehicle Trailer/Towbar Branch Manager our client is offering:
  • Starting salary up to £35,000 per annum.
  • A quarterly bonus structure.
  • Overtime subject to availability paid at standard rate.
  • 32 days annual leave allowance (including bank holidays).
