TeacherActive is working with a school within Derbyshire that require a learning support assistant/Teaching assistant who has completed British sign language Level 2 and above.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- To have BSL Level 2 or above (or native BSL)
- A good level of written English
- Experience working in a school or with children or young adults with hearing impairments (Ideal not essential)
- To be patient and understanding
- To have an enhanced DBS on the update service (You can apply for one through us if you do not yet have one)
- To be supportive of each student.
The school requires someone who is passionate about helping young students and is able to provide 1:1 and small group interventions to students who need additional support with signing and communication or other additional needs.
