Hatched Recruitment is working closely with Derby, we are looking for a Residential Child Care Worker.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

To work with children, young people, carers, families, and other partner agencies to ensure the needs of individual young people are met. Being the Corporate Parent, using best practice to support and develop the growth of a young person in care to adult/independence, ensuring all statutory regulations, processes, procedures are adhered to Safeguard and promote the rights and well-being of children and young people, providing care and support to enable children and young people to develop their full potential.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a service which promotes the children and young people's cultural, racial, linguistic background, sexuality, religious persuasion, gender, disability, age and understanding
  • Develop a safe environment and sustain trusting and supportive relationships with children and young people living in the home and actively support to development and maintenance of a clean and safe environment
  • Work with young people taking into consideration their legal status, wishes and views, as well as those of their families and other people of importance to them
  • Provide for children and young people's physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Work with colleagues to develop, through individual assessment, residential placement planning placement planning, key-working, and risk assessments the children and young people's physical, emotional, and developmental needs
  • Be flexible, and be prepared to work in all the children's homes
  • Working to rotas, but recognising that a rota can be changed at short notice to reflect the needs of the Service
  • Ability to work/visit other locations as required (Transition or Cluster properties for example)
