Job Role

Provide high quality information, advice, guidance and assistance to individuals with a housing need.

To prevent homelessness wherever possible and practicable.

Ensure that the Council's statutory duty under the Housing Act 1996 Part 7, as amended, is met.

Key Responsibilities

To prevent Homelessness wherever practicable and relieve where it sn't possible, ensuring customers who require housing advice receive a high quality service.

Complete assessments within the legislative framework, providing written advice to all customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and develop a personal housing plan unique to each customer.

Negotiate positive outcomes with providers of accommodation or agents to ensure customers are assisted with their accommodation needs.egotiate positive outcomes with providers of accommodation or agents to ensure customers are assisted with their accommodation needs.

Assist customers with information and support regarding Welfare Benefits, housing rights, legal options, resettlement issues and housing options.
