They are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer with hands-on experience of Beckhoff control systems to work within their Nuclear division. The successful Control Systems Engineer (Beckhoff) will be responsible for developing and designing PLC and SCADA systems tailored to customer requirements, with a specific focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLCs using IEC 61131-3 Structured Text. As the Control Systems Engineer (Beckhoff), you will work on programming control systems, configuring SCADA based on both original and provided designs, and participating in all phases of the software and systems lifecycle.

Essential Skills of the Control Systems Engineer (Beckhoff):

  • Degree or HND in Engineering/Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience in the industry
  • Proficiency in programming Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLCs using IEC 61131-3 Structured Text
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within mixed client/contractor teams
  • Demonstrated experience in creating design documentation and test specifications
  • Knowledge of Unit testing practices
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git
  • Open to travel and working on-site as needed
  • Valid driving license
  • Eligible for Security Clearance
  • PLC system design, coding, testing and commissioning (desired)
  • SCADA system design, configuration and commissioning (desired)
  • Prior experience working in the Nuclear Industry (desired)
