About the Role:A great opportunity exists for an experienced and detail-oriented Utilities Surveyor. In this role, you will be responsible for mapping and identifying underground utilities across various sites in the UK. You will use modern surveying equipment such as GNSS systems and 3D laser scanners to ensure the highest standards of utility surveys, playing a key part in a wide range of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct utility surveys to map and identify underground infrastructure such as pipes, cables, and other utilities.
  • Work on a variety of projects, ranging from small-scale to large infrastructure developments.
  • Use modern surveying equipment, including GNSS systems, 3D laser scanners, and other tools to ensure accurate utility mapping.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that survey requirements are understood and met.
  • Prepare detailed reports and data sets, providing clients with actionable insights and high-quality survey results.
  • Contribute to site engineering activities, offering expertise in utility identification and mapping.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of utility surveys for both public and private sector projects.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in utility surveying or land surveying.
  • Familiarity with utility surveying equipment (GNSS, 3D laser scanners, and others).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, able to liaise with clients and project teams effectively.
  • A relevant qualification in surveying or civil engineering would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work across different locations in the UK, with a focus on Derby and Rugby.
