We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welding Field Sales Engineer based in the Midlands for one of our clients on a permanent full-time basis. Our client are a leading engineering company who specialise in the supply of welding equipment. This role is remote based with travel across the Midlands, so will suit someone living in the Derby, Nottingham or Leicester areas.
Responsibilities of the Welding Field Sales Engineer
- New business development and existing account management, selling welding equipment to manufacturing clients
- Create technical quotations and conclude price negotiations.
- Convey product benefits and cost advantages to customers.
- Host high-profile customer demonstrations and open-day events.
- Manage customer data in CRM Database.
- Provide support and application advice for customers.
- Carry out test welds and demonstrations.
- Providing email and telephone support for technical and welding queries/problems.
- Create welding parameters for various applications.
Requirements for a successful Welding Field Sales Engineer
- Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience, both new and existing customers.
- A welding certificate and manual welding experience are essential.
- Possess a strong network within the UK welding industry.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills including excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
- Familiarity with Baan would be an advantage.

Summary of the Welding Field Sales Engineer role
Salary: £50,000 plus bonus, car, fuel card etc.
Location: Field Based covering the Midlands - ideally based Derby, Nottingham or Leicester
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
