An esteemed educational institution in Derby is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Lecturer for a temporary maternity cover role at the Broomfield Hall campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Level 3 Animal Care curriculum. This position offers a part-time schedule of 29.6 hours per week, from Tuesday to Friday.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Animal Care to Level 3 students.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that meet curriculum requirements and the needs of all students.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
  • Engage with current industry practices to ensure teaching content is up-to-date and relevant.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and whole college events as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold an Animal Care related qualification.
  • Possession of a Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
