A college in Derby is looking for a dedicated Adult English Lecturer to join their team temporarily. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English at Entry 3 and Level 2 to adult learners across three different locations, covering afternoon and evening classes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills English lessons to adult learners at Entry 3 and Level 2.
  • Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance teaching methods and participate in professional development activities.
  • Ensure a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths.
  • Level 3 qualification in English.
  • Current DBS on the update service.
  • Proven experience teaching Functional Skills English at Entry 3 and Level 1.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learner needs.
