Job Description

Were looking for experienced Mig/Tig Welder Fabricatorsto join our prestigious client based in Derby!

In this role, youll utilise your expertise in Mig/Tig welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal components for rolling stock, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards. Youll also carry out positional welding, including overhead, vertical, flat, and horizontal welding.

Initially based in Derby, you may be required to visit various customer sites and depots across the UK. Flexibility to stay away from home when needed is essential, with all expenses covered.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent role with excellent progression opportunities!

What youll be doing

  • Interpret engineering drawings to determine welding requirements
  • Perform Mig/Tig welding on stainless steel and aluminium used in rolling stock
  • Carry out positional welding (overhead, vertical, flat, and horizontal)
  • Fabricate and repair railway components, ensuring strict quality and safety standards
  • Inspect welds for integrity and reliability
  • Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to improve processes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Travel to customer sites and depots across the UK when required

Hours

Monday-Thursday 7am-3:30pm & 7am-12pm on Friday

Pay

£17.60 per hour

Overtime paid at £26.40 per hour

Skills/Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Mig/Tig Welder Fabricator
  • Proficiency in Mig and Tig welding with a focus on precision and quality
  • Experience in positional welding (overhead, vertical, flat, and horizontal)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to stay away from home when required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of welding equipment
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills
