Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bid Writer to play a key role in preparing winning proposals for large-scale construction projects. As part of our work-winning team, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, clear, and strategic bid submissions that reflect our company's expertise and align with client requirements. This is a critical role in supporting the company's growth and success in securing major construction contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Preparation:
- Create, write, and edit high-quality bid documents, including PQQs (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires) and ITT (Invitation to Tender) submissions.
- Tailor proposals to meet client requirements and highlight our company's strengths and solutions.
- Ensure that all bid documentation is completed accurately, professionally, and submitted within the required deadlines.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the bid management team, estimators, and technical experts to gather the necessary information for each bid.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure a complete and compliant bid submission.
- Coordinate input from internal teams to create a well-rounded and persuasive proposal.
Content Development:
- Research and develop strong content for bids, drawing on previous project experience and best practices.
- Update and maintain a bid library of reusable content, case studies, and project profiles.
- Ensure all content is tailored to the client and project specifics, while showcasing the company's unique offerings.
Client Focus:
- Understand client expectations and tailor bid submissions to demonstrate how our company's solutions align with their objectives.
- Ensure bid responses are client-focused, addressing key issues and presenting clear value propositions.
Compliance:
- Ensure all bids are compliant with industry standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Review and check documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Requirements
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Bid Writer in the construction industry, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, procurement processes, and bid writing best practices.
Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and compelling proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
- Proven experience in writing successful bids for large-scale construction projects.
