Groundworker with Confined Space (Medium Risk)
Ballycommon isseeking an experienced Groundworker with Confined Space Medium Risk certification to join our team for a project in Necton, NR19. The ideal candidate will have strong groundwork experience and a proven ability to work safely in confined spaces. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of civil engineering works on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Excavation and trenching: Safely dig and prepare trenches for utilities, drainage systems, and foundations.
- Concreting: Mix and lay concrete to create foundations, paths, and other structures, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Drainage installation: Install drainage systems, including pipes and manholes, ensuring proper flow and alignment.
- Kerb and edging laying: Precisely lay kerbs, edgings, and paving stones, ensuring correct levels and alignment.
- Tarmac and resurfacing work: Prepare surfaces and assist with tarmacking roads, driveways, or pathways as required.
- Backfilling and compacting: Use tools and equipment to backfill excavated areas and compact them to required specifications.
- Working in confined spaces: Safely perform tasks in confined spaces, adhering to health and safety regulations for medium-risk environments.
- Site clearance and preparation: Ensure the site is cleared and prepared for work, removing debris and making the area safe.
- Reading and following technical drawings: Interpret site plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Use of hand and power tools: Operate equipment such as compactors, excavators, and other machinery required for groundwork tasks.
Requirements:
- Confined Space (Medium Risk) certification is essential.
- Previous experience as a Groundworker in civil engineering or construction.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices, particularly in confined spaces.
- Ability to work from technical drawings and site plans.
- Experience with drainage systems, kerb laying, concreting, and excavation.
- CSCS card (NVQ Level 2 desirable but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
