I am excited to be working exclusively with my client to recruit an HR Manager. The role is being offered on a part-time basis of 3 days a week.

This role has been created to support the continued growth and expansion of the team. The HR Manager will manage all areas of generalist operational HR and support the organisation with achieving its business objectives. They will be the first point of contact for all managers and senior leaders in supporting and coaching them in driving the right behaviours and values across the business.

You will need to be an enthusiastic team player who is well presented, articulate, and has excellent written and non-verbal communication skills. Academic qualifications are of interest, however experience, will be more important of which this will have been ideally gained in a manufacturing environment

You must enjoy working as an integral member of a team, but also be capable of managing your own workload to deliver high quality work to targets and tight deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Act as the key HR contact within the organisation.
  • Providing HR advice and guidance across a range of HR areas, including employee relations, UK employment law, HR best practice, payroll adjustments, training and development, recruitment, and various HR projects.
  • Coach, develop and provide comprehensive advice to managers on all aspects of their management accountability from talent acquisition and succession planning, through to restructuring teams and retention aids.
  • Business partnering managers and senior leaders across the business on all employee relations matters. This includes managing all disciplinary and grievances cases, up to and including dismissals following appropriate legislation.
  • Devise and own the training plan that covers all skills and competences required within the organisation.
  • Deliver workshops and training to line managers as and when needed.
  • Develop and utilise HR data and insights to help inform and support decisions which impact business performance and help drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the recruitment process - this may include writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions and application forms etc.
  • Provide first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Person Specification

  • CIPD Level 5 certification or equivalent.
  • Proactive, resilient and enthusiastic with a strong background in both HR and Learning & Development.
  • Ideally experienced in working in a stand-alone generalist role preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Used to being visible within the business and working alongside managers to read situations ahead of escalating problems occurring.
  • Experience in delivering training and workshops to a diverse and multicultural team.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of working in a forward-thinking HR function
  • An enthusiastic team player with a 'Can Do’ approach, a curious mindset and a resilient attitude.
  • Confident, outgoing, and highly organised, with drive, initiative, and enthusiasm.
  • A willingness to learn, work hard, contribute to the team, and develop new skills.
  • Highly organised, structured, and disciplined, with great attention to detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple active priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and able to think on your feet.
