Established in Dereham in 2001, JDT Music Academy is acclaimed for providing a wide variety of professional music and creative arts services to people of all ages and abilities. We're open Monday to Friday throughout the year, offering individual and group based sessions to children and adults throughout the day and the evening.


We're looking for a fun, talented and confident musician with excellent communication skills and an empathetic approach to teaching, to join our team.


Your role will include:


  • Teaching Guitar / Bass / Ukulele and/or Piano (must be minimum Grade 6 standard)
  • Delivering other creative arts activities which may include Music Production, DJ-ing and Gaming Design.
  • Providing support and delivering services to Alternative Provision students.
  • Delivering class based music services to schools.
  • Supporting the team by being a pro-active employee.


Important information about the position:


  • The position will commence in November 2024 and will consist of three days of work and a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • The initial position will run under a temporary contract for 6 months, at which time we will provide a full review of your employment and negotiate a permanent contract.
  • This is an employed position and is, therefore, protected by UK Employment Law.
  • Teaching experience is preferred and training will be given.
  • The majority of your work will be based at our centre in Dereham.
  • You may be required to work at alternative locations such as schools, so you will require your own mode of transport.
  • You will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS check and provide two professional references during the recruitment process, prior to employment commencing.
  • You will be required to undertake a number of Health & Safety, Safeguarding and organisational training courses relevant to our work, even if you've attended similar in the past.
