This role is ideal for someone with experience in a machine operating environment and considers themselves to be punctual, reliable and proactive.

  • Role:Production Operative
  • Location:DS Smith Packaging, Mill Road,Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 3EW
  • Rate:13.61ph (increased to 14.13ph after 12 weeks),Overtime 20.41 for weekdays and 23.81(Sat AM) and 27.22ph (Sat PM and Sun)
  • Shifts:06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00 on a rotation.The successful applicant must be able to do all of these shifts
  • Contract length:3 months initially with the view to extend
  • Start:ASAP (once clear the interview and onboarding checks)

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operating machinery to create packaging product for DS Smith's clientele
  • Ensuring efficiency is maximised and downtime is minimised
  • Working to and achievement productivity and performance targets as set by management
  • Ensuring consistent and quality standards are met at all times
  • Maintaining and cleaning in line with the planned maintenance schedule
  • Labelling product and stacking this on pallets
  • Scanning product and maintaining an efficient inventory
  • Working in line with a safe systems of work (SSOW)
  • Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Own transport to commute
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Consider themselves to be a good team player, motivated and quality conscious
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time and conduct manual handling
  • FLT License (desirable)
