Our client are one of the leading can manufacturers in the world and they are looking for an experienced Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their Devizes plant.

Shift hours - working 7 out of 14 days - Month 1 (week 1 = 5 days - week 2 = 2 days - week 3 = 5 days week 4 = 2 days)
Working 7 out of 14 Nights - Month 2 - (week 1 = 5 Nights - week 2 = 2 Nights - week 3 = 5 Nights week 4 = 2 Nights)

Main Purpose of the position:
To provide an efficient repair breakdown service and carry out routine preventative maintenance.

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience performing the same similar duties within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
*Observe / adhere company health and safety regulations at all times
*Carry out any mechanical (challenge) / electrical repairs (Bias) required by engineering team, and/or shift manager
*Identify early fault detection, quality defect systems and maintain effectiveness through zonal ownership
* Complete tasks as set by the matrix manager (proactive / reactive lead)
* Support and guide mechanical technical team to develop there engineering skills
* Action any problems with production machines likely to affect production, or machines defects likely to make the machine unsafe to work.
* Support the development of autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators knowledge and know how. Updating Operation standards for continuity and standardisation
*Efficiently carry out the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) to company standards
*Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes & machines
*Own project themes as determined by the engineering manager/leadership group (SMART)
*Innovative machine set up / modifications to make better
*Hand over to the on-coming maintenance engineer and inform him/her of the state of the lines and of any in progress repairs
*Minimise waste by adopting lean principles and maintain a clean and tidy work ethic.
*Maintain accurate records in line with Ball requirements.
*To adhere to ISO/BRC requirements.
