A Southwest based local authority is seeking an Electrical Manager to oversee a medium-sized electrical team and contractors.
The role involves managing electrical repairs, testing, and improvements in various buildings, including housing and corporate facilities.
Candidates should have a proven track record in supervising teams in an electrical maintenance environment and experience managing NICEIC registration.
The position is full-time, on-site 4-5 days a week, with an initial duration of 3 months while permanent recruitment is underway, and salary is to be discussed based on experience.
Excellent communication skills and IT literacy, particularly in advanced Excel, are required for this role.

We are working with a Southwest based local authority who are currently looking for an Electrical Manager as part of our successful and dynamic Trade Services Team, you will be responsible for the management of a medium size electrical team and an established set of contractors.

They complete electrical repairs, electrical testing, domestic and commercial electrical improvements, fire alarm testing maintenance and repairs, PATS testing and access control repairs and maintenance, within our Housing, Corporate and Operational buildings.

Location: Southwest based Local Authority

Set-up: On-site 4-5 days per week

Rate: To be discussed DOE

Duration: Initial 3-month whilst permanent recruitment

Hours: Full-time position

Responsibilities include:

To review the existing service delivery, with the aim to implement new strategies to ensure that Swindon Borough Council assets are maintained to a high standard within available resources
You will also be asked to work with both residents, tenants, Councillors and the Health and Safety Executive both face to face and at meetings, reporting findings and delivering presentations in relation to Electrical Safety

Requirements:

Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act
Proven track record of supervising a team within an electrical maintenance environment.
Previous experience of managing/prioritising a varied/demanding workload.
Previous experience of managing registration to the NICEIC
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operatives, Sub-contractors and Client Officers
Knowledge of standing orders and procurement regulations
IT literate with advanced excel capability (pivots/graphs/formulae etc.)
Experience in delivering presentations to senior management team.
Ability to run training in relation to Electrical safety to both technical and non-technical staff
