The companyHays Senior Finance is exclusively partnering with a 16m turnover family owned business based on the outskirts of Devizies. The role

  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the finance department (team of 4)
  • Develop and implement finance procedures to meet business and finance department needs
  • Daily management of Accounting IT system providing support throughout the business

DetailsLead the company's accounting function with the support of the finance team including:

  • Accurate production of monthly consolidated management accounts
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations at month end
  • Continually maintain inter company accounts
  • Daily bank reconciliations for the companies of the group
  • Ultimate responsibility for the Accounting IT system including fault logging and resolution, training and reporting.
  • Ensure the company's finance systems and processes are compliant, robust and support current activities and future growth.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management & policies
  • Ultimate responsibility and daily management of Invoice Financing facility
  • Ensure budgeting processes are implemented and reviewed.
  • Present annual accounts to investors/ Auditors
  • Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
  • Manage company policies and processes regarding capital requirements, debt, tax, equity, disposals and acquisitions
  • Main point of contact for bank and auditors

Skills needed

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels
  • Methodical approach with attention to detail
  • Prior experience and working knowledge of an accounts system (Access, SAP, SAGE etc)
  • Excellent level of numeracy and literacy
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of MS Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs) and Word
  • Flexible approach to working
