Grounds Maintenance Worker

Do you have experience working with maintenance tools, like mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters? Are you a hard worker with a willingness to learn? Then this might be the role for you!
Our client is looking for a Ground Maintenance Worker to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will support their Open Spaces team with general maintenance within public spaces.Travel around the local area is required, so a full clean driving license is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake general repairs, cleaning and maintenance of public property
- Maintain recreational areas including cutting and weeding, using appropriate equipment
- Assist with the planting and maintenance of flowerbeds, hanging baskets and tubs
- Check the safety of play and sport equipment under healthy and safety regulations
- Cover duties of Park Warden during periods of sickness
- Assist in the preparation of community events
- Ensure any work carried out is within health and safety regulations e.g. using cleaning material and specialised equipment
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance is desirable, but not essential
- Experience in using general maintenance tools, mowers, strimmers, hedge cutter etc.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities
This position is working 37 hours per week 5 days over 7 so some occasional weekend working is needed
