This Education Academy based in rural Wiltshire is seeking a Head of Maths to lead and teach students aged (11-19) to achieve the absolute best results in Mathematics, supported by a professional and experienced network of teachers. The overall objective is to ensure the consistency and delivery of excellent lessons, enabling students to reach the e expected levels of education and learning, helping them to achieve the highest levels of progress and attainment. As The Head of Maths, your education career to date will evidence a minimum of 3-5 years teaching Maths and associated learning, having achieved QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), a PGCE -Postgraduate certificate in education and a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field, such as statistics, engineering, or computer science. Although not exhaustive the key responsibilities will include the management of teachers, developing and leading an exciting curriculum, to ensure the efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources.
Naturally, you need to ensure that classrooms and areas of learning offer safe, creative, and inspiring learning environments, ensuring risks are accurately assessed. You will interact on a professional level to contribute to the wider development of the Academy, ensuring effective collaboration by active encouragement, promotion and leadership which will contribute significantly to effective whole-school collaboration including SEND and Pastoral teams to support positive student outcomes. You will participate in regular Line Management meetings as directed, implementing measures and staff support to ensure student progress and achievement.
The need to lead, oversee and promote effective self-evaluation practice is key, rigorously measuring and monitoring the quality of teaching and learning and ensuring impressive results through effective self-evaluation, identifying and introducing improvements to areas that are still in need of development. You will devise and maintain a Department Improvement Plan underpinned by the School Strategic Plan; strategically leading actions designed to improve outcomes for all students in your specialist subject.
