Assistant Site Manager - Devizes (with Travel to Chippenham & Trowbridge)

37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday: 10:00am - 6:00pm and Friday: 10:30am - 6:00pm

Salary up to 26,500 (depending on experience)

About the Role:

I am recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to work alongside the Site Manager in Devizes. This role will require occasional travel to other school sites located in Chippenham and Trowbridge, providing vital support to maintain and manage the school's facilities.

This position involves key holding, general maintenance, and ensuring the health and safety of the school environment. It's a physically demanding role, and some occasional weekend work or additional hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security: Serve as a joint key holder, ensuring the site is always secure, including alarm management and participation in out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Maintenance: Carry out routine repairs and maintenance on fixtures, fittings, and the building, ensuring that all facilities are in top working order.
  • Compliance: Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, including legionella, COSHH, asbestos, and fire safety.
  • Groundskeeping: Ensure outdoor areas, including paths, steps, and playgrounds, are safe and free of litter, especially during the winter months.
  • Room Setup & Porterage: Assist with preparing meeting rooms for internal and external bookings, move furniture and equipment, and handle deliveries as needed.
  • Minibus Maintenance: Support routine checks and upkeep of school minibuses, including cleaning and visual inspections.
  • Problem Solving: Respond to urgent repairs, alarm callouts, and unexpected maintenance challenges, using creativity and quick thinking to resolve issues.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in site management, maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage urgent situations effectively.
  • Willingness to be flexible and support multiple sites as required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or willingness to undergo the check).
