Lead Technical Solutions Architect

About the Role:
We are seeking a Lead Technical Solutions Architect to join our team. In this role, you will deliver technical solutions and MILSATCOM expertise to support the SATCOM Programme. You will be instrumental in developing and managing enterprise architecture, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of technical solutions for new user needs.
  • Manage enterprise architecture and external interfaces with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for change control boards, obsolescence impact assessments, and technical risk reviews.
  • Offer direct MILSATCOM experience and advice to the Chief Engineer.
  • Guide the SEDA team in developing key system-level artefacts.
  • Conduct technical assurance reviews at both programme and project levels.
About You:

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in developing technical solutions for complex SATCOM systems.
  • Expertise in delivering enterprise architecture and managing interfaces across large programmes.
  • Proficiency in conducting Solutions Reviews, technical impact assessments, and risk reviews.
  • In-depth knowledge of MILSATCOM systems, including design artefacts, standards, and protocols.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full Systems Engineering lifecycle (e.g., INCOSE, ISO/IEC 15288).
  • Strong end-to-end knowledge of MILSATCOM systems, including satellite, RF antenna, modem, and networking/baseband systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with MOD ways of working, including KiD and GEAR.
  • Knowledge of Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF, NAF, MODAF, DODAF (preferably NAF).
  • Understanding of the existing Skynet implementation.
