Job Title: Mechanical Service Engineer
This client is a specialist, leading provider of innovative service solutions in the water filtration, pumping and water supply sectors. Specialising in the service, repair, design, and maintenance of advanced mechanical systems, which includes pumps, filtration systems and mechanical equipment, we now seek an experienced service engineer to join the team in the Oxfordshire area. Our client has a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, which are the key drivers when delivering customer service solutions.
The job is based on a permanent basis, working Monday to Friday with full use of a company van and all associated tools. Ideally, you will live in the Oxfordshire area due to the client locations, which are primarily based in rural areas. You will need a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle for travel to work purposes. Offering an attractive annual salary of £40,000 there is a chance of overtime and out-of-hours call pay. Â
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems all attached to the water supply industry. Serving both commercial and residential premises, this role requires someone with a strong technical background, with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate with clients and service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for servicing mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, filtration systems, and pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- You will conduct system testing and analysis to assess issues and to ensure that services meet customer specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to optimise system performance and efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and customer quotes and prices
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, providing professional, technical updates on services
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and related technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 Engineering or time-served mechanical apprenticeship
- Proven experience in servicing, replacing and maintaining pumps, filtration systems, and pneumatic equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Willing to work on a mobile basis across Oxfordshire
