The RoleWe are seeking flexible and compassionate supply support staff to work in special schools across Wiltshire, supporting children and young people with complex needs. This role involves assisting students with their learning, providing personal care, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and positive, with a strong commitment to helping students thrive. Main Responsibilities
- Support students in accessing lessons and engaging with their learning.
- Provide personal care, including toileting, feeding, and moving & handling.
- Assist with communication needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure students' needs are met.
- Maintain a calm and supportive approach, managing behaviours with sensitivity and understanding.
- Adapt to different school settings and student needs, ensuring a positive impact in each placement.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with students with complex needs (PMLD, SLD, ASD, or physical disabilities).
- Comfortable providing personal care as part of the role.
- Flexible and able to adapt to different school environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patient, empathetic, and positive attitude towards supporting students with SEND.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a special school or care setting.
- Training in moving & handling, Makaton, PECs, or Team Teach.
- Access to a car for travel between schools.
