Sonic Summary

The position is for an HGV Class 2 Driver based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, with working hours from Monday to Friday starting between 04:00 and 07:00 for up to 10-hour shifts.
The pay rate for this role is £14.50 per hour, and candidates must have held a valid UK Category C Driving Licence for a minimum of two years.
Essential qualifications include a valid UK CPC card, Digi Card, and no more than six penalty points on their driving record.
Responsibilities include safely driving a Class 2 vehicle, making timely deliveries, and ensuring all paperwork is updated correctly, with potential heavy lifting involved.
While experience in making store deliveries is desirable, it is not essential, and training will be provided, including a written and driving assessment.

HGV CLASS 2 DRIVER

MONDAY - FRIDAY: 04:00 - 07:00 STARTS (UP TO 10 HOUR SHIFTS)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

This position will be ongoing, covering Monday to Friday.

Day to Day duties

Working as a HGV Class 2 Driver your duties will include but not limited to:

Drive a Class 2 Vehicle safely and efficiently
Make on time deliveries
Make deliveries using Dollys
Deliver to stores
Up to ten Drops
Ensure load is secured correctly
Use of tail lift
Heavy lifting may be required
Make collections where required
Conduct pre and post vehicle checks
Ensure all paperwork is updated correctly
Communicate with the transport team regularly
Abide by driving rules and regulations
Follow company policies and procedures
Go the extra mile
Provide excellent customer service

Essential Skills

As a HGV Class 2 Driver you will need to:

Have held a valid UK Category C Driving Licence for a minimum of two years
Hold a valid UK CPC card and Digi Card
No more than six penalty points
No major endorsement codes
Excellent communication skills
Good customer service skills

Desirable experience

Experience working as a HGV Class 2 driver making store deliveries is desirable but not essential.

Training

Training provided and a written and driving assessment must be passed for this role.
