We are looking for an experienced CNC Operative who will play a crucial role in our clients manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating CNC machinery and will be capable of producing high-quality furniture components with precision and efficiency. Knowledge or experience with edgebanding machinery will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Machines: Set up and operate CNC machines, such as routers, to cut, shape, and finish wood materials according to detailed specifications and technical drawings.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all produced components meet stringent quality standards and customer requirements. Regularly inspect finished products for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Read and Interpret Drawings: Accurately read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand job requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Program Optimization: Optimize machine programs for speed and efficiency while maintaining product quality. Make necessary adjustments to CNC machine controls to ensure the production of precise components.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any hazards, incidents, or machine malfunctions immediately.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to coordinate workflow, manage priorities, and achieve production targets. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding any production issues or improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the furniture industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in CNC programming, machine setup, and operation. Familiarity with woodworking tools, materials, and techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and quality, with the ability to detect and correct errors before they affect the final product.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine and production issues efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods as required.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in edgebanding – setting up and operating edgebanding machines to apply edging materials to furniture components is highly desirable.
