Finance Assistant

Dewsbury

£27k to £29k depending on experience.

  • 25 days holidays plus bank holidays.
  • Holidays increasing by 1 day per year after 3 years (up to 28 days).
  • Pension: Employer contribution 5% (rising to 6% in July 2025)
  • Death in Service Benefit: 1 x annual salary

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant with strong payroll experience to join a small, dynamic team in Dewsbury. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director and Payroll Manager, supporting the financial operations of four trading companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with payroll processing (timesheets, holiday tracking, monthly payroll) using Sage Payroll
  • Processing purchase orders and reconciling invoices
  • Supporting Sales and Purchase Ledger activities, including invoice and statement processing
  • Assisting with ad hoc financial reports and project work as required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Payroll processing experience, ideally with Sage Payroll
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Sage
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team
