Role Overview: As a Housing Support Coach for young people (ages 16-25), you will work directly with young people, offering tailored support that empowers them to achieve independence and stability. Your role will involve helping residents navigate challenges and develop essential life skills. This role is a real opportunity for you to make a positive difference to the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Develop and maintain supportive, trusting relationships with young residents, acting as a mentor and guide in their journey towards independent living.
  • • Provide one-on-one support to help residents improve life skills such as budgeting, managing tenancies, cooking, and self-care.
  • • Liaise with external services (e.g., mental health professionals, employment services, social workers) to ensure holistic support for residents.
  • • Support young people in navigating housing applications, securing move-on accommodation, and understanding tenancy rights and responsibilities.
  • • Assist with day-to-day operations, ensuring our accommodation remains a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
  • • Monitor residents’ progress, keep accurate records, and report on outcomes as needed.
  • • Facilitate group workshops on topics like independent living skills, confidence-building, and personal wellbeing.
  • • Help residents manage crises and challenging situations, providing practical advice and emotional support when needed.What We're Looking For:
  • • Experience in working with young people, particularly those affected by homelessness, trauma, or mental health issues.
  • • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • • A positive, non-judgemental attitude, with good problem-solving abilities and resilience in managing challenging behaviour.
  • • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the welfare of young people.

The post is part time, working 22 hours per week based on 4 week rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.
