Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with additional needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can fully participate in lessons.
- Support teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
- Assist with the delivery of interventions for students with learning difficulties, emotional challenges, and/or physical disabilities.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to achieve their full potential.
- Support students with personal care needs, where required, in line with school policies.
- Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting students' needs.
The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have:
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting, preferably with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their academic and personal development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential.
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
