Reed Scientific is working with one of Oxfordshire’s largest chemical companies. They are looking for a number of chemists with a passion for R&D to join their expanding manufacturing division. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design, plan, and execute experimental programmes and associated analytical testing with guidance from a supervisor.
  • Operate a Pilot Plant unit and support process improvements and process safety activities.
  • Evaluate new raw materials and component suppliers.
  • Provide analysis and insight for lab or plant troubleshooting, process optimisation, and New Product Development projects.
  • Make technical recommendations based on the interpretation of experimental results/data.
  • Document experimental results and learnings through knowledge management systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline (eg. chemical engineering)
  • Strong technical competencies with an aptitude for practical laboratory and/or pilot plant work and organic synthesis.
  • Ideally looking for 1-2 years industry experience. If you are a fresh graduate who has done similar work during placement year this can also be considered.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry techniques would be an advantage.
  • Diligence in managing test results, technical information, and lab records.
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
