Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Didcot

Our client, a leading organisation in the field of Environmental Science, is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join their team. You will play a crucial role in performing analytical tasks and duties to the highest standards, specifications, and time constraints. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of your work and undertaking non-routine tasks as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical duties independently and meet productivity and quality specifications.
  • Follow methods, standard operating procedures, local rules, and regulations to maintain good laboratory practise.
  • Comply with the Laboratory Quality System.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate work records.
  • Report any faults and abnormalities in equipment and data.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members when required.
  • Support the Line Manager in achieving production and quality targets.

Quality and Technical Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Leader.
  • Assist in the investigation of failed/repeat PT results and raised issues.
  • Conduct equipment calibration when trained to do so.

Requirements:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English, Science, and Maths, grade C or above.
  • Experience working in a high-pressure, production-driven environment.
  • Basic understanding of scientific principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with safe working procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UKAS and MCERTS standards.
