Since their inception in 2000, our client has led the change in revolutionising the world of inspection machines and artificial intelligence vision system products. Operating from the UK, they have expanded their reach to serve customers across the globe, earning a well-deserved reputation for innovation, unmatched quality, and precision in the realm of machine vision systems for inspection, guidance and identification. They are now looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who can work effectively as part of an experienced engineering team. The role will utilise AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and electrical schematics for small retrofit camera systems through to large industrial automation machinery.

Please note this role is fully on-site so suitable applicants must be willing to commute to Harwell, Didcot Monday to Friday.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Innovate and Create: Dive headfirst into industrial automation by developing groundbreaking designs. You'll be empowered to bring your ideas to life through designs, architectural diagrams and schematics within AutoCAD Electrical, all the while receiving guidance from the experienced Design Manager.
  • Specify Components: You'll be at the forefront of industrial automation technology, selecting components that drive the future of automation systems. Your expertise will be essential in shaping their cutting-edge systems.
  • Global Standards: Craft designs and drawings that adhere to international Standards as directed by the Design Manager. Your commitment to quality will help maintain their global reputation for excellence.
  • Collaborate for Success: Operate within the Design team while actively partnering with the Applications Engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time and with precision. Your teamwork and dedication will be pivotal to success.
  • Hands-On Experience: Not only will you design and direct machine builds, but you'll also have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the hands-on electrical build of the innovative systems when needed.
  • Stay on the Cutting Edge: Dive into the latest generation of vision engineering, expanding your skill set and staying at the forefront of technological advancements.

Previous Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar package.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of electrical control gear and industrial automation.
  • Experience designing and creating electrical panel layouts.
  • Educated to degree level preferably in Electrical Engineering or related fields (2.1 or above).
  • Knowledge of robotics. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of PLC and controls.
