URGENTLY NEEDED, Full or Part-time Microcontroller Researchers for short-term contract until 10 Jan 25 - MUST BE UK BASED
The overall aim is to survey commercially-available microcontrollers to identify those that fulfil a set of defined criteria. The extent of the survey to be performed can be tailored to the time available, for example by restricting it to the components available from a certain manufacturer.
A microcontroller (MCU) is a small computer on a single integrated circuit. A microcontroller contains one or more CPUs (processor cores) along with memory and programmable input/output peripherals. The capability and power of MCUs vary widely. The results of the survey are to be captured in a spreadsheet, along with the manufacturer’s name and the part number of each MCU surveyed. We are carrying out a survey to identify those MCUs that fulfil the following criteria:
- Key question: is an evaluation board available? If yes then complete the additional questions. If not then record the manufacturer and part number but leave other fields blank.
- CPU (only 16/32/64 bits - do not survey 8 bit devices)
- Maximum clock speed
- Memory size
- Power consumption
- Embedded mitigations
- Availability and variety of IOs
- Operating temperature range (°C)
Additional criteria may be added.
Experience required
- Good knowledge of microcontrollers
- Good electronics knowledge
