Technical Support Engineer South Oxfordshire

Technical Support Engineer Salary:Up to £35,000 - £50,000 Depending on experience

Orion is partnered with a well-established business located in South Oxfordshire, which are recruiting for an experienced Level 2 Technical Support Engineer.

Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 support by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimise disruption to the customer
  • Drive projects that improve our processes and our customer experience, including:
  • Improving troubleshooting through developing better tooling, and creating better workflows and documentation
  • Identify platform enhancements through deep understanding of persistent issues
  • Automating manual tasks to improve operational efficiency
  • Mentor teammates on new tools, technologies and troubleshooting
  • Be a team flagbearer for bringing in and adopting best practices for L2 support
  • Complete software configuration and deployment of new features for customers

Technical Support Engineer Minimum Experience

  • 3 years experience in efficiently investigating potential bugs and performance issues and implementing solutions
  • Experience designing, architecting, debugging, testing, and creating well-documented Python code
  • Experience working with tech such as: Gitlab CI, Zendesk, Esper, Firebase Crashlytics, LogRocket, Prometheus, Grafana, Jira, Linux, Dask
  • Developing proactive monitoring and analytics to enable high-quality support
  • BSc in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in the software industry

Technical Support Engineer Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical people
  • Strong initiative and intuitive problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly understand new technologies, and become an expert in our infrastructure and platform
