2 Days Office Chilton, Oxfordshire, 3 Days Home

Basic Salary £27,000 with benefits including 28 days holiday plus two additional days off as a 'garden day’ and 'gift day’. Pension Scheme, Life assurance, Health Cash Plan, Cycle Work and Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice schemes. Free fruit, tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the office.

Our client a well-respected and reputable trade association with 1,400 members is currently looking for Policy Assistant to join a hard-working, fun andfriendly team.

If you are a graduate/equivalent who is a keen learner, good team player, ready to immerse yourself in new subject matters, engaging with stakeholders and have some experience in policy, public affairs, external affairs, trade association, membership body, not for profit, government, campaigning PR, public relations, research, academia, parliament, parliamentary, casework, MPs, politics or similar we would love to hear from you.

The Role of Policy Assistant

Tomonitor,researchand communicate onpublic policy,political and other issues impacting the sector,

Developanddelivercampaignsandstrategicpublicaffairs,

Toorganiseandrepresent at keyevents

To maintaincriticalinformationresources-such asdatabases,briefing libraries, legislationtrackers.

Person Specification

Demonstrable experience in public affairs and policy, having worked in Parliament, trade association, Government, campaign organisation, PR/public affairs agency or similar.

Excellentteamworking,criticalthinkingability,withaproactive,can-doattitude.

Professional,reliable,andaccountablewhilstbeingprocessdriven.

Strong research, analytical and drafting skills, being able to digest complex information intokeysalientpoints.

Anawarenessofpoliticalissuesandconsequences.

Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills. An eye for detail with the abilitytomulti-task,workwelltotightdeadlinesandwithcompetingpriorities.

Strongadministrative,organisationalandtimemanagementskills.

ITLiteratewithdemonstrableknowledgeofMSOfficeincludingOutlook.

Educatedtodegreelevelinarelevantfield.
