We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and manage mechanical systems, specifically heating, chilled water, and public health works, on a pharmaceutical commercial project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing mechanical installations, ensuring the systems are compliant with stringent industry standards, and maintaining a high level of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the mechanical installation teams responsible for heating, chilled systems, and public health works on-site.
  • Ensure the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, heating systems, and plumbing systems meet all design specifications and pharmaceutical industry requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and other supervisory staff to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Inspect and ensure all work complies with the latest codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Review project specifications, mechanical drawings, and design documents to ensure accuracy in implementation.
  • Perform regular site inspections and quality checks on all mechanical installations.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to installation teams, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical system issues during installation and throughout the commissioning phase.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, including materials used, time spent, and project changes.
  • Manage the ordering and tracking of mechanical materials and equipment required for the project.
  • Ensure proper adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, contractors, and clients to ensure project coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CSCS card
  • SSSTS / SMSTS
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role, particularly in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, heating systems, and public health works.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical design, installation, and commissioning in highly regulated environments.
  • Experience in overseeing complex installations in the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of local building codes, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering or construction qualifications, along with certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical licenses).
  • Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and understanding of pharmaceutical industry-specific standards is an advantage.
