Your role as a Pastoral Support Worker is to primarily be there to support the Didcot students during their school day. Many of the KS2 children that attend this school have been identified as struggling with social, emotional and mental health issues. They are looking for a Pastoral Support Worker who will come in and help them find better ways to cope with their emotions while navigating their school work.

To be a successful Pastoral Support Worker, you will need to be compassionate, keen to make a difference and also positive. These children need a resilient and positive person to uplift them every day and help facilitate a learning environment in which they feel comfortable and supported.

Degrees (2:1) in Psychology, Sociology and Mental Health is desirable. Child related Mental Health qualifications is fantastic.

  • Didcot location - excellent transport links, great for candidates in: Wantage, Abingdon and Vale of White Horse.

Essential requirements:

  • Up to date enhance DBS Check
  • At least 1 years Mental Health childcare experience (preferred)
  • Safeguarding children certificate
  • To hold a UK driving licence or be able to commute
