Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Didcot - Immediate Start
Full-time | 83 - 90 per day (DOE) | Long-Term Opportunity
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? A vibrant Mainstream Primary School in Didcot is looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with children who have Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and other learning difficulties.
The Role - Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Didcot)
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
- Assisting in classroom activities, ensuring children stay engaged and focused
- Supporting students with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
- Helping implement learning strategies designed by teachers and the SENCO
- Encouraging independence and confidence in learning
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with SEN children (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or similar needs)
- A Level 3 qualification or relevant degree is advantageous
- GCSEs in Maths & English (C or above) required
- A patient, understanding, and proactive approach to SEN support
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
