Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Engineer to join their team based in Dingwall on a full time, permanent basis. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Engineer to and those with a strong background in working with large machinery, as well as mechanical and electrical systems, are encouraged to apply.
Job Description:
- This role involves ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of equipment to achieve safe and efficient production
- Oversee the operation, installation, and maintenance of machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime and enhance productivity.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Assist with the optimisation of the production process and machinery to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all machinery complies with safety regulations and standards.
- Provide technical support to other personnel, including guidance on the safe and efficient operation of machinery.
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Work collaboratively with external contractors and suppliers as needed.
- Contribute to the selection and procurement of tools, materials, and spare parts.
- Participate in training and development to keep up-to-date with technological advancements in machinery and control systems.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with large industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming (beneficial but not essential).
- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to machinery operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
