Location: Burnroot Sawmill, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, AB34 5PN.
Salary: £45,000 to £48,000.
Contract: Full time, permanent. Â

About the role:
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our small Engineering/Maintenance department reporting to the Engineering Manager.  This is a hands-on role where you will be either in the workshop or out in the Sawmill for most of your time. Responsible for ensuring equipment and facilities function reliably and efficiently. You will be involved in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, to minimise downtime, reduce costs and maximise productivity.
Candidates must be willing to work a shift rota/system and out of hours working, as and when required.
Hours of work are: Shift 1 – 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Friday and Shift 2 – 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday, 14:30 to 19:30 on a Friday and 06:00 to 16:00 on a Saturday.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Continually improve equipment
• Carry out planned monitoring and maintenance inspections
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Plant repairs
• When required, actively support the engineering team carrying out multi-skill tasks
Skills and Experience:
• A good practicable knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mobile plant applications.
• Knowledge of electrical control systems
• Experience of fabrication and welding
• A good team player, but also have the ability to work alone
• The ability to adapt and improvise under breakdown conditions
• Ability to take ownership of the task with a positive can-do attitude
• Full driving licence
• Be safety conscious
