Assistant Financial Controller

Reed Finance are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our clients finance team on a temporary basis for up to 6 months. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our client's financial operations. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of financial processes including month-end closing, stock management, cost control, and reporting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Take a lead role in month-end closing activities, including company accounting, transport accounting, and ancillary stocks.
- Manage stock effectively to ensure accuracy and optimal levels.
- Play a key role in cost management through daily and weekly cost control activities.
- Maintain key controls reporting and conduct quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle fixed asset accounting and manage statistical reporting both internally and externally.
- Responsible for daily KPI reporting and goods receipt processing.
- Manage weekly expenses payments and conduct quality audits.
- Oversee payroll administration and participate in annual reporting activities such as sustainability reports, tax packs, and packaging waste reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial control or a similar role.
- Candidate must be immediately available or on short notice for this position.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
