NXTGEN are pleased to be supporting a leading company in their industry sector, who are looking to recruit a payroll team leader. As a payroll team leader, you will be joining a business who have experienced exceptional growth over the last five years making this a very exciting time to be joining. They offer a fantastic working environment and are committed to supporting their staff. This is an integral role within the finance function and is needing someone who offers an abundance of experience within payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and support the UK payroll team, providing guidance and conducting training to enhance skills.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all UK employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Maintain knowledge of UK payroll legislation and generate regular payroll reports for senior management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance to resolve payroll issues and act as the point of contact for audits.
  • Project Management: Lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades and integration during mergers.

The ideal candidate will have over five years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment and hold a CIPP qualification. Proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and strong Microsoft Office skills are essential. Knowledge of HMRC legislation, statutory payments, and international payroll for ROI. The candidate should also possess strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a proven ability to provide high-quality customer and payroll service.
