Graduate - Trainee Chartered Accountant

The Role

Barber McLelland is working in partnership with one of the region’s leading independent firms of accountants????. The business is looking to recruit a Graduate for the position of Graduate Trainee Chartered Accountant to join their Doncaster Office.

The business is looking to invest in an individual who graduated in 2024/2025 with either a Mathematics or Accountancy & Finance Degree and looking to develop their career as a Chartered Accountant.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of Graduate Trainee Chartered Accountant will work within a highly experienced and supportive environment and will develop exposure to the following:

  • The preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Assist with client external audits
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of personal and corporate tax computations
  • Preparation of VAT
  • Develop experience in using various accountancy software packages including Sage Line 50 and Xero accounting.

The firm will provide the successful Trainee Chartered Accountant with an excellent platform to develop their career, they have an excellent structured training program, providing practical experience within all areas of accounting along with dealing with a wide variety of clients.

Skills and Qualities

The successful applicant must have graduated in 2024 or 2025 and ideally with an appropriate degree such as Accountancy & Finance, Mathematics or Business Finance. Strong academics is key with a minimum expected grade of 2:1 with good A level and GCSE results. Individuals who have placement experience would be highly beneficial although this is not essential.
