A growing and successful organisation is seeking an Interim Group Accountant for a 9-month contract to oversee financial reporting and statutory accounting for its UK entities. This role will ensure compliance with UKGAAP and IFRS, while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledger accounts across the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UKGAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Prepare annual audited accounts for the group, managing the statutory audit process and engaging with auditors.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly group financial reports, ensuring high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a small team of Accounts Assistants, overseeing workloads and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, including inventory control and reporting.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and collaborate with international stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and support to senior finance leadership on technical and operational matters.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with strong group accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Solid knowledge of UKGAAP and IFRS, with experience managing statutory audits.
  • Proven team leadership skills, capable of managing and developing a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
