Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, privately owned construction business in Doncaster, as they look to recruit a Management Accountant / Finance Manager for their head office. The business has experienced significant growth in recent years, and with this success expected to continue they are looking to recruit a Management Accountant who will have responsibility for managing the finance function.

Whilst there is currently a bookkeeper in place who is responsible for much of the finance administration, a significant proportion of the financial reporting is currently outsourced to the external Accountants. With the growth of the business, they are now looking to bring this in-house. This will present the successful candidate with a great opportunity to embed new finance processes and procedures and lead the finance function moving forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the ledgers, ensuring financial control is maintained throughout the system
  • Preparation of supplier payments
  • Preparation of the management accounts both monthly and quarterly
  • Recording and understanding of variances and trends in financial performance
  • Budget preparation
  • Cash-flow forecasting
  • Year-end statutory reporting and supporting external accountants at year-end
  • Managing VAT return
  • Monitor capital expenditure
  • Payroll management for head office
  • CIS returns
  • Analysis of financial information to support decision making of senior Directors
  • Identifying system / process improvements

Key skills / qualifications:

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or qualified by experience
  • Experience of working in the construction sector
  • Experience and proficiency with Sage Accounting software
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
