Job Role: Production Operative
Reporting to: Production Manager
Hourly wage: 12 (increases in line with training, higher rate also available for someone with fibreglass experience)
Hours: 40 per week
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Gi Group are now looking to recruit a full time Production Operative for our growing client based in Doncaster. Our client are a leading manufacturer of bespoke leisure products and are known for quality, efficiency and keeping their people at the heart of their values. The role will be predominantly dealing with Glass Reinforced Plastics or "GRP".

Responsibilities of the Production Operative

* To make Glass Reinforced Plastic products) from start to finish.
* Mould preparation (New / Refurbish/ Minor prep).
* Gel processing & Tint colour mixing.
* Trimming / Sanding process.
* Applying chemical coatings.
* Polishing & packing.
* Operation of various machines.
* Interpret drawings to acquire correct sizes, cut-out requirements and orientations of products.
* Be self-reliant on tasks.
* Follow work plans exactly.
* Constantly look to improve quality of products.

Competencies and Skill set of the Process Operative

* Understanding of the materials used and the process involved in manufacturing Glass Reinforced Plastic products. (preferred)
* Fiberglass experience (Preferred)
* Safe use of hand tools both manual & battery operated.
* Attention to detail and identifying defects.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to clean, organise and keep tidy work spaces.
* Correct use of PPE.
* Physically able to maintain manual handling procedures (training will be given in manual handling).
