On behalf of a client School in Epworth, we are looking for a dedicated School Caretaker to join their team and play a key role in maintaining the facilities to the highest standard. As a School Caretaker you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school premises. You will oversee site security, maintenance, health and safety, and cleanliness, contributing to an environment where everyone can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Maintenance: Carry out routine repairs, minor works, and general upkeep to ensure the school is well-maintained.
  • Security: Close the school buildings, monitor security systems
  • Health and Safety: Conduct regular checks of fire safety equipment, play areas, and other facilities to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Grounds keeping: Maintain outdoor spaces, including gardens, pathways, and playgrounds.
  • Contractor Liaison: Oversee external contractors working on-site, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
  • Stock and Supplies: Monitor and manage cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • General Support: Provide practical assistance during school events and support staff with ad-hoc tasks as needed.

About You

Were looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and takes pride in their work. You should have:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities management role (preferred).
  • Must hold a current DBS
  • Basic DIY and maintenance skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Work Type and Hours

  • Part time, Temp
  • Monday to Friday
  • 14:30 - 17:30
