About the Role:

As a Primary School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school premises. You will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school grounds and buildings. Key Responsibilities of the Primary School Caretaker:

  • Managing security by locking and unlocking the school premises, setting alarms, and conducting regular security checks.
  • Performing general cleaning duties to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the school.
  • Liaising with contractors and external service providers for any specialised repairs or maintenance work.
  • Conducting regular health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and risk assessments.
  • Responding to any immediate maintenance needs or emergencies that may arise during the school day.
  • Supporting the school staff by setting up rooms for meetings, assemblies, and other events as needed.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Previous experience working as a Caretaker, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong practical skills, including basic DIY, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to conduct risk assessments.
