Our client requires a Chef Manager to run a contract in the provision of high end further education catering. Set up in order to help people meet their full potential, this is a great environment in which to work. They are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef or Chef Manager, with a background in volume education catering, to take up the challenge.
Job Description:
Working on a Monday to Friday basis, with an occasional weekend shift, you will be managing a team of 7 providing over 600 students and 100 staff. You will be involved in the day to day multi-outlet catering services on site and work with suitable menus that exceed expectations. Alongside this, you will ensure that all health, safety and hygiene standards are met. An experience and knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens is essential. Stock and financial control is also in your remit.
Required Experience:
You will have experience of the provision of food to similar volume at Head Chef or Chef Manager level in an education environment, or volume business and industry contract. You will need to demonstrate a record of success and the drive and desire always increase standards of food and service. You will require up to date references, and a clean DBS check. A knowledge of modern food trends and commerciality is paramount.
Salary and Benefits:
The starting salary for this role is £36,000p/a.
Varied Working Options
Option 1. Can be 60 Hours a week - Full pay in the holidays, work 180 days of the year, have the same holidays off as the children and school holiday apart from the Friday before schools return for orders and prep ect You will work potentially up to 8pm at night and be at work the next day for 6am it is very hands on and busy.
Option 2. 52 Week contract Minus Personal Holidays,Not expected to work heavy hours Monday to Friday but during term time you would work elsewhere Manchester Leeds Nottingham, if there is no work you are on call and this can be last minute sent to locations, paid mileage.
Option 3. Term time Pro Rata - will reduce the salary, this would be to work just during the school term and would not be expected to work heavy hours Monday to Friday
