Company Overview

Our client, with over 30 years of experience in supporting the supply chain, is experiencing a strong period of growth, having secured major nationwide contracts and planning to expand further within the UK and Europe. The company is seeking a Area Sales Executive who can build effective communication channels between the leadership team (SLT) and stakeholders. The role involves creating platforms for discussing and formulating ideas, goals, and best practices to continuously develop the business and industry. The ideal candidate must have a passion for sustainability, reuse, logistics, and the supply chain, along with the ability to bring operations to market globally.

The Role - Area Sales Executive

The role is focused on sales within the company, specifically:

  • Selling second-hand pallets
  • Selling new pallets
  • Selling pallet-related services
  • Finding & negotiating surplus pallet purchases
  • Maintaining & developing existing accounts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continue the growth across the company's product range.
  • Identify and convert new opportunities in both existing and new markets.
  • Manage and secure accounts.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Develop and extend services to existing accounts.
  • Implement continuous improvements, always seeking more efficient ways of working.
  • Develop and implement effective sales plans.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Negotiate and close agreements with customers.
  • Perform research to identify new potential customers and market opportunities.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure consistent product quality and development.

Business Development Expertise in the Following Markets Would Be Advantageous:

  • Logistics
  • Warehousing
  • Aggregates & Building Products
  • Packaging Manufacturers
  • Chemical Industries

Area Sales Executive Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Business Development experience.
  • Understanding of the business-to-business process.
  • Comfortable navigating through complex company hierarchies to find the appropriate point of contact.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the retail and supply sectors.
  • Skilled in developing a business development funnel to deliver results.
  • Experience managing a wide variety of customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers.
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to learn, take positive criticism, and work on own initiative.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Availability to travel as needed.

Package

  • 20 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays.
